Further evidence that this event is actually going to happen has come from Intel, as the company has revealed its intention to hold a press event on Thursday too. French website MacGeneration also claims to have uncovered the specs for the new Pro line-up. Here’s what is being stated:
- Intel Core i3 processor
- 16GB SSD mSATA drive for OS
- 4GB RAM on 13″ & 15″ models, 8GB on 17″
- 12 hour apple laptop batteries life on 13″, 10 hours on 15″
- 1440 x 900 resolution display for 13″ model, 1680 x 1050 for 15″
- Third USB port on 13″ model
- Matte screen option on high-end 13″ model
- 13″ & 15″ models are 200 grams lighter
- 17″ model 300 grams heavier
Other rumors include the white MacBook being scrapped and the MacBook Air 11″ becoming the entry-level model. We also get an idea of the expected pricing for the new models:

The next few weeks are going to prove a very busy time for Apple if all this turns out to be true.
